Dec 26, 2018

China's printing industry has a long history, many internal subdivisions of the industry, involving the publishing industry, packaging industry, paper products industry, plastic industry, electronics industry, etc., its products used in the national economic life of the various fields. With the development of the society and the progress of social life, the printing industry develops and expands continuously, and gradually forms an industrial and economic system with knowledge and information as the main content and influencing the international competitiveness. China's printing industry has initially formed three industrial belts: the pearl river delta with guangdong as the center, the Yangtze river delta with Shanghai, jiangsu and zhejiang as the center, and the bohai rim with Beijing and tianjin as the center. The emergence of printing industrial clusters has greatly promoted the development of China's printing industry.

In 2011, there were over 3.7 million employees. China (calculated by 10% growth of RMB 770 billion in 2010) accounts for more than 15% of the total output value of the global printing industry (about usd 785 billion in 2010). The industrial scale of China is close to the second largest in the world, and it has become an important printing and processing base in the world. With the increasing improvement of printing technology and the deepening of environmental protection concept, digital printing and green printing are the key points of China's future printing industry development. By 2020, about 50 percent of the world's printed matter will be produced on digital printers, and variable data printing will be the industry's main driver.

Historical conditions

Although China has entered a big printing country, the per capita consumption of printing is only 1/10 of that of developed countries, the industrial structure is unreasonable, the structural contradictions are prominent, the research and development foundation is weak, the technological innovation is not strong enough, the technical equipment, the quality of practitioners to be improved and so on still restrict the development of China's printing industry, is not a printing power.

2008 was the best year for the printing industry and the worst year for the industry. On the one hand, the Olympic economy promotes printing business opportunities, and new technologies promote the development of digital printing; On the other hand, the price of printing continues to go down, the price of raw materials rises, the price of paper is turbulent, the cost increases, the "plastic limit order" is issued, the global economy continues to downturn -- stock market crash, housing market plunge, currency market decline. In a variety of factors under the game, China and the global printing industry is facing a reshuffle. This era has not only given enterprises attractive opportunities, but also countless challenges in front of the enterprise. Our printing enterprises cannot "hibernate" in winter like animals, do not eat or drink fat consumption, but should change the concept, "practice hard work inside, expand the market outside", shape the sun mentality, to cope with economic shocks. In the face of market rules, whoever changes quickly will be able to take the market advantage. Who can reduce the cost to the lowest, who has the core competitiveness.

According to the eleventh five-year plan, by the end of the eleventh five-year plan, the total output value of China's printing industry is expected to reach about 440 billion yuan, accounting for about 2.5% of the GDP. Printing production and processing capacity will enter the forefront of the world.
